Western Waves Dairy, home of Ferndale Farmstead, is Awarded Drayton Harbor Watershed Steward 2018 Award
‘Drayton Harbor Watershed Steward’ award recognized Western Waves Dairy, home of Ferndale Farmstead, for their efforts to improve water quality in Drayton Harbor.
Ferndale, Wash. – Family-owned dairy Western Waves located in Ferndale,WA was publicly recognized in Blaine, WA for research and practices on their farm that have enhanced water quality for shellfish beds in Drayton Harbor, which is part of the treasured Northwest natural resource ecosystem.
Farm manager Kevin Dougherty and owner Bill Wavrin collaborated with the State Department of Ecology and Agriculture, Whatcom County Conservation District, and the Federal Natural Resources Conservation Service on their efforts because they firmly believe that stewardship of our natural resources is a community responsibility.

Western Waves is home to Ferndale Farmstead, which won 2 national medals for their signature Scamorza cheeses earlier this year.
